Wow, when did it get really hot here? Like, wow, this room is literally like a burning stove.
Yeah... 1N seems to have a cycle of dramas, then quiet, then drama, then quiet, etc. And this cycle seems to be getting faster and more deadly.
So recently, there's the Tomorrow-David-Luis-etc. drama, which, since I have no full knowledge of, I will not talk about much. I will say, though, that this one was and is pretty devastating to the point where several people are now all-out fuming.
This particular issue made me think about why 1N is the host of so many toxins, but other teams, like Eclipse, isn't. And what I found was... a bit saddening, because it made me realize that this team's problems won't go away naturally. In its natural form, 1N is always going to have this cycle.
Now, before you read this, I will be pointing to Team Eclipse a lot, since it's related to 1N in many ways I'll talk about later.
So how, you might ask, did I come up with this? Well, I have several thoughts on this.
1. 1N is, in its essence, one of the first (if not the first) teams hosted within GD Wiki formed by amateur players. When 1N first started, there were hardly any teams, which meant that 1N couldn't really establish any bases. It had to establish its own base, and unfortunately, that base, while seemingly strong, was full of holes and cracks. One base was that they would be welcoming to almost anyone. Now, don't get me wrong: I really like that base. I hold strongly and faithfully to it. At the same time, though, this caused a lot of the issues (such as David's Interrogation Room and the Darkrai Nuke). I'll explain that in more detail in my next point. Another base that didn't go off well was that the leaders didn't do so well in letting everyone spread their voices. I'll explain in the third point.
2. 1N allows almost anyone in, provided that they participate in a megacollab. I find that people who don't create well TEND to have a more bitter attitude, and unfortunately, this is what 1N has been allowing in. Eclipse, on the other hand, refuse to do so, and as a result, most toxic people are unwelcome in that team. Naturally, since I'm a bad creator, I'm not very welcome in Eclipse in terms of creating (but of course I can still stay in their servers, provided I don't throw a tantrum, which I have no intentions of doing). Because Eclipse has a more restrictive funnel and filter, the bottom of the bottle is more positive.
3. The leaders didn't hear the voices of the members. Now, again, don't get me wrong: I like Zey and Train. They both did great things for the team, and certainly made considerable influence for future team-creating and 1N. And they're, at least to me, good people. However, what was Zey's initial mistake was that he enforced megacollabs to people, some of which they didn't want. I believe that Zey got this idea from the success of gathering people for his first megacollab, uNation. Because this collab was finished, Zey thought that, well, people would want to do his other ideas all the time. Unfortunately, this didn't hold true. Zey made the further error of forcing the ideas to people and refusing to listen otherwise, thus creating much tension within the team. This created some of the drama and anger that drove people out. Zey, of course, learned, but by then, the views against Zey was established: he was an authoritarian with no respect for other people's ideas. Again, though, to me, this isn't true now: if Zey had continued with 1N, he might've been able to redeem himself and banish these views against him. Train is learning from this mistake, and is hoping to do something of the likewise. Now, what did Eclipse do that avoids this issue? They're letting anyone spread ideas for the team. Whether or not it's accepted is another issue, but the fact that Eclipsers can share ideas gives empowerment and positive morals.
4. The thing that most disheartened me: Eclipse is an evolved version of 1N. As a matter of fact, a lot of teams are evolutions of 1N, in various ways. Eclipse avoids a lot of the mistakes that 1N made, and as a result, everyone is happier there. 1N makes a lot of slips, and because there is no predecessor of 1N to go off from, they can't avoid it as well as Eclipse can. We could opt to learn from Geometry World's mistakes (the old Korean Team before N2), but because no one from 1N was from GW, we can't really do that effectively. That means that, at almost all times, Eclipse is going to be better than 1N. They will pass more megacollabs. They will live more likely in harmony. They will probably be more long lasting.
Summary of the 4 points:
1. 1N is the first team, and so it doesn't have much of a base to follow. Because of this, 1N can't learn from any other team, and thus the drama arises.
2. 1N lets almost anyone in, which means that there's a more likely chance for a toxic person to come in.
3. 1N didn't allow members to have their voices heard, which means that people will vent their anger to the team.
4. Eclipse is an evolved version of 1N, and 1N doesn't have any predecessor to follow, which creates issues for the team.
So is drama inevitable for Eclipse? At some point or another, perhaps Eclipse might run into a new issue that 1N never had, and Eclipse might have a drama. However, 1N has the unfortunate cause of being first as a team, and thus will be the most pained by all the issues.
Will 1N ever fully recover? Hard to say at this point. Will the cycle of drama be stopped? I can't be sure, but at this point, I have no reason to say that it can be stopped.
So yeah... again, I tried my best not to issue any opinions of mine, but the overall thing is my theories as to why 1N is riddled with issues.
tl;dr: 1N has a cycle of issues because it has no predecessor to learn its issues from, which means that 1N will more than likely continue to have issues. It's a natural process, and without some sort of stopper to stop the cycle, it will continue.
